The constitution would be broken if by-elections were held later than 90 days: Qureshi
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, an elderly leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf( PTI), said on Sunday that the PTI would dispute by-choices on 33 National Assembly seats in March and that former high minister Imran Khan would be their seeker in all constituencies.
On Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan( ECP) declared that the by-choices for 33 NA seats would take place on March 16. After NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the adoptions of PTI lawgivers, the seats came vacant.
Fawad Chaudhry, the leader of the PTI, preliminarily declared before this month that the party chief would run in by choices for every open National Assembly seat.
On January 17, Fawad posted a statement on Twitter stating that" Tehreek-e-Insaf will run campaigners on all the seats and Imran Khan will be the seeker of Tehreek-e-Insaf on these thirty-three seats."
